The life of a Sendcloud Sales Engineer 🛠️

After pouring your first coffee/tea you immediately get a smile on your face while checking your calendar. You have some exciting and varied meetings ahead of you, where you will join challenging conversations with our biggest potential customers. In these meetings you will be the lucky charm for all our Sales Reps when merchants start asking technical questions. “Which APIs should I use?”, “How does this Integration work?” or “Can my warehouse download the Shipping Labels?”, no sweat, you have the right answers in your backpocket. 

On the side, the true detective in you, asks tactical questions to understand the full scope of the merchant's dreams & wishes. You spot bottlenecks, unclarities or possible issues far before they can even surface. After the conversations, you follow up with a solid summary, next steps and pinpoint to the right chapters in our documentation. This is how you literally engineer opportunities into wins! 

You are, by the way, not only the living FAQ of Sales, you are also their preferred  trainer/coach who helps them to identify opportunities in their cold and warm outreaches. It’s your goal to train our Sales Reps to a super high technical level, following the trends of the markets in which they operate. This gives you more time to focus on the most impactful business.

On a daily basis, you will 💻

  • Evaluate incoming business opportunities and determine if they are technically feasible 
  • Coach and train sales to become their best technical self and help them build their own skillset for qualification calls
  • Work very close together with our Solution Architects, discussing new internal technical standards as well as cases where it has to be determined if they need to be involved
  • Take full responsibility until the deal is signed, including commercial terms and conditions
  • Organise (internal) kick-off meetings to start the implementation-phase
  • Give constant feedback on our product, api’s and documentation
  • Manage, together with the Solution Architects, an  inhouse ‘training center” for our commercial teams. Enabling them to reach new technical levels

  • Has a deep understanding of sales-organisations and target driven environments
  • Has excellent communication skills to lead a variety of stakeholders in our projects
  • Has commercial sophistication to optimise the overall deal value
  • Has experience with API’s and is not afraid of some JSON code
  • Has touchpoints with different types of software solutions in our market, such as ERP, WMS and Marketplaces
  • Does not like to redo the same work twice, but rather reuses what has been done in the past
