What you will do in this role 🧐

As a Shared infrastructure engineer you will be working on the Sendcloud platform within the platform domain. This includes owning, maintaining and improving all building blocks that sit on the top of the AWS infrastructure, such as k8s as a service, monitoring as a service, databases as a service, API related infrastructure and many other managed solutions forming IaaS portfolio. Our platform is used by our software development teams to build, test, deploy and run software themselves. 

As a part of the shared infra team your goal is to connect what cloud enablement delivers as PaaS and DevOps teams that run their services on the top of the infrastructure building blocks you deliver. All of our services are running in 24x7, highly available, highly scalable mode and need to meet production readiness criteria before going live.

• You have a background in development and/or operations.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar Infrastructure or DevOps/SRE related roles.
• You have experience with Linux, the command line doesn't scare you.
• You have experience with Amazon Web Services. 
• You swear by Infrastructure as Code (we use Terraform). 
• You have previous experience developing software yourself.
• Knowledge of relational databases.
• You understand how to manage a release process using CI/CD.
• You have strong experience with Kubernetes, Helm and running production (micro)services. 
• You have knowledge of Distributed systems, including containerized (micro)services, highly scalable web applications, and authentication frameworks.
• You know what it takes to build high quality software on a professional basis
• You are eager to learn and keep improving yourself. You're up to date about the latest technologies and a passionate Engineer
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• You are a teamplayer and you like to share your opinion and knowledge.

Nice to have 🤩

• Experience with educating people.
• Experience with blue/green or canary deployments.
• Experience with Datadog.
• Experience with GitOps is a plus.
