Back in 2011, Rob, Bas, and Sabi were running an online store selling phone accessories. Things were great, and the business was growing.
While payments were fully automated, shipping wasn’t: it was a cumbersome process requiring a lot of manual work. Shipping costs were too expensive, and as a small store, they were getting poor customer service compared to larger companies.
Shipping was limiting their ability to compete and grow their business, so they started looking for a solution. Unable to find one for months, the lightbulb moment suddenly came, along with a few drinks, on one fateful night spent brainstorming in a pub: “Screw this, let’s do it ourselves!”.
